AVG is good, but there are many things wrong with it.

1. The amount of false-positives the program produces

2. Poor pro-active protection

3. Solely email-based support.

Seriously, AVG isn't up to par for my liking. BitDefender, Avast and NOD32 are just so much better.

a friend of mine was using up to date AVG antivirus it always said that his laptop was clean, but whoever used his laptop could tell sth is wrong so, we installed a trial Kaspersky and it detected over 300 viruses, add-ware, and spy-ware.
anyway for me i use McAfee total protection but i see that kaspersky is pretty good too and much lighter.

Free is not the best way.Some virus are not detectable in free version anti-virus.
I've used AVG before until I install Bitdefender.
Found like 40-60 virus more on my PC.
Most are spywares which slows your computer down.

Best anti-virus i would recommend is : Bitdefender Total Security , Kaspersky KIV+KAV or

my friend and i ..use this kind of anti virus......the mcafee.......we've been already known that this kind of anti virus can eat a big memory...so we don't used it until we get avast....
avg is better......but it seems.....there's is a little bit disadvantages on it.......

Kasperky has the best protection and detection and it not to hard to find real serials for a few years. But if you want a free one try using AVG

The only anti-viruses i've used are Symantec and AVG,so I'll probably go with AVG.
