Video tutorials. They give you exactly what a text tutorial gives you, but you see the procedure, and if you don't know English, or whatever the language the tutorial is written in, it'll show you how to make the program.

id say text tutorials cause the speed you learn depends on the speed of how fast you read. not how fast the person can think and type at the same time.

I agree with wassup. When i started coding, i started with vids and then went on to tutorials, you learn way more with READING then WATCHING.
Happy to help

I think the best way you want to learn C++ is you need to know what the coding mean and how the way you can code it up . If you want to start up I think you can try with this site : Common C/C++ commands. Join/copy or convert to int, string, char, array |

It depends on you. My stepfather bought me C++ For Dummies when I got interested, at 10. If I can learn from that thing at 10, you can probably learn from it too. It's funny, simple, and teaches concepts pretty well. The thing is, it's by no means a full reference. I've read about half of it, the basics, and when the need arises for me to check out inheritance or stuff like that, I go to that chapter. The best way to lean (in my opinion) is that book, and then whenever you encounter something that you don't know how to do when you're programming, you can ask on a forum and/or people you know. Then when you get a response, remember that command or whatever, and build from there. S'what I do.

I don't know what it is about learning programming in a class room. I feel it's easier to learn on your own and you enjoy it more as well.
I think a good way to learn, the way I learned ASM, would be to get someone you know who codes in the language to code a program for you, something you can relate to and then give you the source to that program. When he/she does that, what you are going to do straight away is look at that source and figure out just how it's doing what it's doing - you want to know because its relevant to whatever you are doing. In my case, I had a bunch of cheats I made in Cheat Engine and my friend (MaNoLz) converted those cheats into ASM code and hooked me up with the source. That was the most informative thing ever. Being able to see your own work being converted into code was EXTREMELY informative. I learned ASM in like 2 minutes (exaggerating but it was quick).
and yea..best way I learn is to just learn at my own pace. I will code a program and if I feel that I need something, then I will go straight away to either MSDN or one of my other websites that I found to help in the language I code in.

yeah.. someone made cheats for me in ARM, but they were uncommented and they got somehow converted to codebreaker, so that didn't help. Oh and high school computer science sucks. I talked to the gr 10 (which I'm going into) computer science teacher last year and he said I don't even need to bother taking the course after he listened to what I've been doing. I like books, you can download them, and funny ones are good. C++ for Dummies is a good introduction to programming in general and C++, but if already know some programming stuff, then it'll be a bit slow for you.
