Ok, I got some requests through PM's on how to change the weapon model like I did in the Post Your Character thread. So I made this tutorial. Should be easy if you have a brain.
First, find the Cabal Online folder in your Local Disk drive.
Local Disk C > Program Files > OGPlanet > Cabal Online
In the Cabal Online folder, you need to find the Data folder and open it.
Then open the FX folder in the Data folder.
Cabal Online > Data > FX
Now open the EFX folder and make a new folder and name it Backups.
Copy and paste the Arms folder into the new folder.
Once the files are done copying, open the folder that you just copied.
EFX > Backups > Arms
Copy and the file named "lance-0.efx" and go back to the Backups folder and paste it in there. Just click Back once and then paste it.
Now you want to rename this file into the file which is the model for the weapon your are using. In the original Arms folder in the EFX folder, there are many files like these:
1h_bld_06.efx
1h_bld_06+.efx
1h_bld_07.efx
These are the weapons:
1h_bld_XX.efx = blade
1h_kat_XX.efx = katana
2h_bld_XX.efx = great sword
2h_kat_XX.efx = daikatana
1h_cry_XX.efx = crystal
1h_orb_XX.efx = orb
XX = number
The numbers represent the type of weapon.
07 = Forcium
06+ = Redosmium
06 = Osmium
05+ = Shadowtitanium
05 = Titanium
04 = Bluestin
03 = Aramid
02 = Damascus
01 = Iron
00 = the plain beginning gear
Rename the "lance-0.efx" file to the file you want to replace it with. I use Redosmium Blades so I renamed lance-0.efx to 1h_bld_06+.efx.
After you rename it, move it into the original Arms folder that is in the EFX folder. They will ask if you want to replace the file, click Yes. Now open Cabal and log in, select your character with the changed weapon models and have fun playing with the new look which might look like this:
You can do this with any other .efx files.
Keep playing around and you can find other .efx files like the ones in pItem folder or the legacy folder.
FX > EFX > Item > pItem
Fx > EFX > Item > legacy
For low level blades, I don't know why they aren't in the Arms folder. But you can find them in another Arms folder in a different location.
Cabal Online > Data > Item > arms
These follow the same procedure.
I've only done this with fighter classes like the Blader and Warrior that actually hold their weapons. I haven't tried on classes that summon Astral Weapons like the Force Archer and Force Shielder, but I think I know which files you are suppose to change:
bow_XX_keep.efx = summoned bow
shield_XX_keep.efx = summoned shield
XX = number(above)
Additional info:
claw-0.efx = Blader BM2 Claw
lance-0.efx = Warrior BM2 Lance(used in the tut.)
gauntlet-0.efx = Wizard BM2 Gauntlets
charger-0.efx
charger-1.efx = these are the parts for the Force Blader's BM2 Cannon on their left arms. It is made of 2 parts apparently.
twin_pistol-0.efx
twin_pistol-1.efx = these are the parts for the Force Archer's BM2 Dual Pistols
I'm not sure what the "charge_lamp-X_X.efx" are for. Mess around with them and see what they turn out to be.
Everything is affected by this. If you changed a certain item, that item will be different everywhere you see it. It will look changed on other people and in your inventory, which is funny since I didn't know the Warrior's BM2 Lance could be put in the inventory.
OKAY, done. Now, have fun with your cool new weapons. It should feel like your playing with a completely different view of the game.
PS-Using the same method, you can change skill and magic graphics.
Please thank me if you used this and enjoyed using it.
