Well, since you're on this forum, I assume you like gaming, and since lately the gaming industry has been booming, particularly in the consoles area, I would say a game designer/programmer/graphic artist would be a pretty solid future compared to a few years ago (when there was really only a market for the hardcore gamers). Even microsoft has joined in the console market, and with all these new games coming out that cater to a larger audience, there'll be plenty of companies starting up wanting to cash in on it. It all depends on how good you are...

take up any programming/computing subjects during school if they offer any, meanwhile learn a programming language yourself C/C++ is somewhat an easy language to start with (lots and lots of guides online) or if you'll rather do graphics for games, play around with imaging editing and rending software.
you could probably take up a programming course in college/uni too, some places nowadays are actually introducing game design as a major for some computing degrees

Look, based on Latin American Statistics (this might be applied to US and everywhere too) the most important/well payed/actualized carrers you can study are those based on COMPUTERS. As you might know, even the toaster nowadays works with Windows Toaster Edition -.-" . The market demands that you know at least how to properly use Ms Office, AutoCAD, etc.. The point is that I strongly suggest you to study something you're USED TO, something You like (wich I assume is computers ) because in the future not only your toaster will have windows, YOU will have windows inside...
In my country (Panama) these jobs are well payed. Im a system engenieer student at college and I already work @ Dell's Call Center for Technical Support to Servers in the U.S. im 18 y/o, just graduated and Im being payed 800$ monthly. This may not be too much for many of you, but for a just-graduated-from-highschool guy its a lot. I hope you make the right decision, and take my advice, as well as some of the other ppl in this thread who said the same. I Wish you the hottest Luck (did you know luck is a girl? XD)
