yea, u should, gettin a job would be much easier if u have computer programming basics. that gives employees a sense that ur good in computers and are co-efficient in any type of media software problem that one day they might encounter.
lets just say u get into business stream, yea, don't take this subject, u wouldn't have the chance to code C++ or HTML when ur having a meeting with ur boss or colleages. hell, u wouldn't have a chance to use your learnt programming skills at all. im in business stream, studyin in MIbt deakin in melbourne, and fcukin hell yea i know im right.
mass comunnication, yea, gettin programming while ur in this stream is alright, imagine getting a great bonus when ur applying for a job, it just give u the upper-hand among the rest of the other applicants. copyrighted company software, creating your very own computer system for the company = $$$$
get the picture?
the rest of the other course choices, i leave it to yourself to wonder.

lets see, i guess ur definition of college is at diploma level? or is it certificate?
certificate aka foundation, is a year, u learn the general stuff of computer programming. actually, i don't really know whats happening in computer programming class, all my friends wouldn't give a fcuk what the lecturer is saying. cuz maybe its just too boring. dont worry tho, thats why its suitable for people who have no knowledge at all in the simple basics of computers to join computer programming in college. basically, they start from the beginning. HTML, how to use microsoft excel, crap that we all already know.
in diploma level,..................
i haven't got there yet. :P
im still in college >.<
