Im meaning on the basis of that the hero has no items at all, just their custom skills.

Thats right,there is no exactly the best hero.
Its all about farming,pushing and killing skill.
if you have those skill you will pwn for sure ; )

I prefer Ursa,Drow ranger,dragon knight,phantom assasin and nevermore : )

should be., best team lineup? no such thing as best hero, that's why they spend years on balancing both side..

mmm.. i think sand king is the best hero ever...
Heart of tarasqque, kelen's dagger, battle fury x 2 and Epicenter :P

Sand king will be great if combined with Lion or Earthshaker... GODLIKE!!!!

troll to me is best and good , permanent bash at late game wif 1 basher , satanic, butterfly ... trust me everyone will stay away from u at late gmae lol... too pain..

Riggest heros in dota (if played right. No, not even played right, just get the right items and auto attack and you get HOLY ****!)

BroodMother, King Leoric, Voidwalker, Troll, Spiritbreaker, Dragon Knight, Spectre, Ursa, Rooftrellen, Phantom Assassin (even though she got nerfed STILL GOOD!)

Broodmother = get some crazy ass dps and dun get orb effects.
Items: Vlads Offering, MKB, BFly, Treads. I own with just these items. Get Radiance if you want and any other items you think would boost BM's stats.

King Leoric = he has a ****ing life steal aura and crits. Then at the new version, he gets a version of its stun. King leoric is a tank, dps, and a diasbler/nuke. Thats like everything on the list. Plus he has reincarnation -.-.
Items: Satanic, BFury, Heart of tarresque, treads, MKB. Yes, satanic stacks with its life steal aura. 2x life steal, godlyyy. Bfury for the damage and cleave, heart for the hp and regen and dmg, treads for MS and IAS, MKB for IAS, dmg, ministun. Its gg -.- add a bfly with leoric too (more ms and ias)

Voidwalker, troll, spiritbreaker are just permastunners -.-. Voidwalker and troll gets treads, mkb, bfly, and satanic. GG! or get MoM with voidwalker. The life steal goes with the crazy IAS for these 2 heros.

SB gets treads/BoT, sny(for the slow and the xtra ms/ias), Vlads offering(life steal), vanguard(more hp to tank creeps that you run into while doing charge).

LOLL!!!! EVER SINCE WHEN DID NA had an DPS atk LMAO!!What a total noob!
There is no hero thats is the *best, it is the skill that matters, even if u are using ur most godly hero u think it is, u might still lose.
To me Farming for good items will lead to victory no matter what *crap hero u using.
