Well, to be honest, my current computer is **** when it comes to gaming, and I plan to get a new one with my $1,500 budget.

Out of all the computers I've looked up I found one that caught my attention and seems to fit my needs, but I wanted to know what you guys think about it.

What are the specs on your old machine? If you upgrade that instead of buying everything new you can save money.

The reason alienware is overpriced is because of their fancy looking cases and lighting.

With $1,500 you can get an very POWERFUL pc.

I would recommend starting with a INTEL quad like a Q9550, and Get 4GB+ of 1066MHz or higher RAM.
And an Gefore GTX 260 or GTX 280 graphic card.


Went getting a new pc it with good budget it mostly always better to build it yourself or get a friend to do it. It will put around $300 back in your pocket or in your machine with that budget.

BTW: The Intel Q6600 Quad ($210) is better is then most powerful processors out there for AMD "Phenom 9950" ($289) ATM Intel total pwn amd with there 45nm Quad.

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 896MB w/DVI + TV Out Video

Hard Drive: Gaming HARD DRIVES [Serial ATA-150, 10,000 RPM] WD Raptor WD3000GLFS 300GB 16M Cache Hard Drive This is an FAST hard drive. Put all your programs in here. It not for storage.

Get one of these harddrive for storage if needed: Newegg.com - 32MB, 7200 RPM, Internal Hard Drives, Hard Drives, Computer Hardware
The reason why your want these is because of the 32MB cashe vs the 16MB
32MB will allow you to write and read alot faster.

OS: You need a 64-bit OS to use all that RAM. Like Vista Ultimate x64
There is alot of negative talk about Vista...Honestly i don't know the real reason i have no problem with it so far (Google your problem *FIXED*) and all of my Vista user friend ask Vista > XP as well. cough*rapidshare*

hmm i just bought a laptop around that price O_o

getting it on thursday.

during my search for a laptop i read some comments about alienware, many of them where people believe that alienware is not worth the price.

Yeah....When i got my gaming laptop i did ALOT of research...... Xoticpc.com was the way to go with laptop.
