Video Card Problem

Well, my pc was built by me about a year ago, about 1 month ago the computer would sometimes restarts itself after at random times. This was very rare, it would happen maybe once every 10 days or so. Around a week ago the problem got worse (or so I think) the screen would flicker and display some weird graphics and freeze.

After a while the screen would go black and the computer would restart, sometimes it never restarted and I had to turn off manually. I tried getting each hardware out and try to isolate the problem but it kept happening. The temp is at 40C so I don't think that is the problem. It also happens before windows is loaded, so it can't be a virus.

Specs are:

Pentium 4 2.80 ghz HT
GeForce 6600 256MB
512 MB ram
Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Sound card
MSI Motherboard.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I got the same problem as u ..but my ram is 768 .

My computer will go black and hang

Well, I'll just buy new stuff and build another pc, last night power supply failed so I'm guessing that was the problem from the start, now I have a fried Motherboard too.
