I'm building a computuer what do you think of these parts.

Hey guys, can you comment on these parts that I'm about to buy. Tell me if you think i should upgrade anything because of performance wise, or if you think i could go with something a bit cheaper because it really doesnt need to be as good as it is.

All prices are in AUD and are not the actual price im paying because im getting it at near cost price from a friend.

Also if you see a part i've listed that you have seen or heard that has problems, could you let me know.

At this stage im not sure on the monitor ill get, that will come later. If i have missed anything else that i'll need, let me know.

thanks

Great choice of parts, but consider getting a sound card for larger sound systems, not just normal speakers or a headset. Also, get a titanium case, its much lighter and keeps the heat in and out.

well it seems like you have researched the hell outa this stuff already, a good website for getting things cheap is http://www.pricewatch.com/ your price range seems a bit high but at the same time there all high performance parts, I myself would rather wait about a year till I would buy a new comp because around 2007 Microsoft vista will be released.

just remember my parts are in AUD and not USD and ill be getting them cheaper still as im getting them for near cost price.

also Microsoft Vista is just software, and it will be fully functional with the hardware I have chosen.

Hybrid, you have any case in particualar that you would point out to me.

there is still more research that i will be doing on this, as i dont want it to overheat and then have to spend more money on it. Wanna get it `right` the first time.

I'm still thinking of getting AMD 3800+ Dual Processor

i will also get more ram as time goes on.

Most people are saying go with AMD but lately i've been hearing they tend to overheat too much. 2 of my computer tech friends dont use AMD because of this reason. But generally speaking they are better for gaming still.

Overheat is really not a problem for me. just install a better fan and you'll be fine. I'm actually just using the regular fan that came with the CPU. but my PC Case also has like 4 other fans.
