Okay most likely a problem with the bios. Did you turn off your computer from the wall or without shutting it down properly? that could have caused this problem
okay try holding ctlr+alt+del and see if it will start your computer normally now.
You may need to install a new bios, this one could work for you, but you may need to search around for the `right` one for your computer. P13 BIOS from the Gateway Web site. The filename is 7511677.exe.

If the above fails then you may want to try using a boot disk, I have provided you with everything you will need.
They contain a generic boot.ini that defaults to the first partition of the first drive and the "Windows" folder. But there are options for any of 3 partitions on the first 2 hard drives and "Winnt" folders if that is where your system is installed.
Download XP Sysboot media here:
Bootable Sysboot Floppy -

Bootable Sysboot CD Image -

If you do not have a burner that will burn ISO images, or if you don't know how, then use this standalone ISO burner to create a bootable CD from the image above.

If all that dont work, then there are a few more things you may be able to do, however I will need details of your computer parts (all)
a lost resolution may be a format.
