Exactly, another option is that they just plain out don't want to "waste" cash on games so they do not essentially pay for anything, rather they just download the game and right away search for a private server. NEXON is attempting to kill off the easy roads if you will.

But the customers they lost mostly consist of people they don't make money off from.

And if Scania went back to what it was 1-2 years ago (Like khaini or something now), I might keep playing, but now, pretty much the first few channels are almost full.

In their way, they didn't get authorization from NEXON, but they didn't try to obtain confidential information through a passive attack. They just wanted to know the packets a file sent to create a similar program as the NEXON servers.

I personally think NEXON just wants people to go back to MapleStory. I would urge people to get a copy of the OdinMS source and the TitanMS source just to keep the projects alive. (And distribute it freely, don't go making people pay for it unless you want Matze to sue you )

and odinms arent really making money, 90 bucks a month from the ads(for server hosting in the beginning, after i dunt know..but it shouldnt be much, donaations went to server set up and monthly costs..(1 server cost about 90 they said, but they got more servers after) also ppl playing oms usually arent the ppl that would buy nx in nexon anyway..so nexon arent really losing any money

Trying to get money my ass. Sure it might be $500,000, but they need to make it somewhat like they're doing this to help more than themselves. But seriously, everybody knows that they're doing this to show an example to everybody else to shut down their servers. That way if anyone does want to play a game that's insanely hard to level and that has a horrible community and that you must buy nexon cash to get anywhere far, you'll have maplestory.

Also, I read that if odin loses, they can counter sue and/or try to get a license from Wizet. If wizet had any mind and saw how GMS was like now, they might do it. (Having gach and itcg the only way to make money; Wizet always believed cash was to make yourself look better and not really get an advantage.) But look what nexon's doing now. Cash = Gach/iTCG = up to 100mil mesos per item.
