I have some experience in making movies for PC games so I thought I would give some help for anyone who wanted to make some movies of themselves playing.
First off, you need the `right` programs.
Heres a list of programs you will need:
-Vegas Video: Professioal video editing software.
-Fraps: Screen capture software.
-Virtual Dub: Audio compression software.
-DivX: Video codec.
Heres where you can get these programs:
-Vegas:
Click
-Fraps:
Click
-Virtual Dub:
Click
-DivX:
Click
For now, the Vegas and Fraps links I provided are only free versions. I will try to post cracks for the full versions later on. If someone else would like to do that, that would be great also.
From here, you should have all the programs downloaded and installed. If your having any trouble with the links, you can easily find them on google.
For the first step, your going to want to capture whatever you want using fraps. The settings should be as follows:
Your settings do not have to be the exact same as this. If you find other settings more effective, please share.
Once you have your movie recorded your going to open up Vegas.
Click the Explorer tab at the bottom and point it to the video you want to use. Drag the video onto the timeline along with any music you may want to add. Once everything is put together the way you want, you need to render it. By rendering it the way im going to show you, it will make the file size much smaller without taking away the quality.
Click File>Render As.
Make your settings so they look like this. Now click the 'Custom...' button.
Make your settings like this then click the 'Video' tab at the bottom.
Make sure you make your settings the exact same as these. Then click the 'Configure...' button within this window. It should bring up the DivX window. The only thing you should have to change here is the bitrate value. Make it 3000 then click OK. Now click the 'Audio' tab at the bottom.
Again, make it so your settings match the ones below then click OK.
You should now be taken back to the window that opened when you first clicked 'File>Render As'. At last, click the 'Save' button. This process shouldn't take to long. It will vary on the length of your movie. Once its finished you can close Vegas. Now open Virtual Dub.
Click 'File>Open video file...' and point it to the video you rendered using Vegas. Now click the 'Video' tab at the top. Click the 'Direct stream copy' option from the drop down.
Now click the 'Audio' tab. Select the 'Full processing mode' option.
Now, also from the 'Audio' tab your going to click 'Compression'. Make your settings like this and click OK.
Now click File>Save as AVI.
That's it! I hope this guide helped. I tried to be as descriptive as possible.
