In terms of popularity, I'm going to have to say AIM. (Though I voted my preference, being MSN).
Every say.... 8/10ish Americans I would begin talking to years back (I used to join role playing sites/games, etc Basically a lot of things that had more American users then anything.) would be using AOL as there internet provider.
AOL = Comes with an AIM Screen Name (obviously).
Well anyways all that doesn't matter, but my opinion(and I'm almost sure I'm entirely right..) is that AIM is the most popular.
Doesn't change the fact though.....
