i used the compatible battery that is stated but when i put the batt after i put the magic mem stick,it still dint auto on.what's wrong?

okay im new to this whole modding your PSP, but my problem is to make a magic memory stick and pandora's battery i need to have a CFW already installed on my PSP. But to install a customer fireware i need to downgrade my fireware im guess (currently sony offical 4.05). to downgrade my fireware i need to run a magic memory stick and pandora's battery using a installed CFW on a PSP. but to install a CFW i need the memory stick and pandora's battery which im trying to make first. am i understanding my process. i never installed anything on my PSP but the official fireware that sony released which is 4.05. i dont know anyone else who would have done this to borrow there CFW PSP or sticks or battery. is there anyway i can do this with my current firmware of 4.05 by myself with out any already modded PSP??

I'm assuing it's not working for me because i don't have a CFW on my PSP already because when i try to create a pandora's battery it tells me game can not be played (some error message) i've been looking around for ways to downgrade my firmware but can't with out already of modding this. so i ask again any help as to "hacking" my PSP for the first time?


I guess im stuck in a catch 22........hope this makes sense. thanks in advance
