Hello and thanks for this awesome guide. I just want to get this straight. The new PSPs will come with either 3.60 or 3.71 FW on it. The Pandora's battery in this guide will downgrade the slim PSP to 1.5, then upgrade to 3.4 and finally 3.71 M33? Or does it go directly from the firmware already on the slim to 3.71 M33? I don't understand why there are 3 different eboots.

The new PSP (Slim) comes in OFW 3.60. This specific pandora doesn't downgrade to 1.50, it automatically goes to 3.71 M33-2. The EBOOTS are needed for Despertar Cementerio to function properly.

What would happen if the PSP Slim comes in 3.71. Would this still work? I'm planning on getting the Ice Silver Daxter bundle. Or is it confirmed ALL PSP slims so far are 3.60?

I'm pretty sure they would all come in 3.60 but if they do come in 3.71, it will still work, since it's basically installing the CFW.

If you mean homebrewed games from previous firmware, then yes, obviously, if it is compatible with 3.71 M33-2.

How would you know if the game you backed up/dumped is compatible with 3.71 M33-2? I mean I wouldn't mind playing it off the UMD, but I've heard there's faster loading time on the MS itself.

I'm not entirely sure which games are compatible with 3.71 M33-2 but most of the games that I've download that were tested on 3.52 M33-4 worked for me. Just try it out.

Hello and sorry for so many questions but you've been a big help howie. Now here's another question...lolz. If you put this custom FW on your PSP slim, how will that affect UMD disc play? What if I wanted to play a game off the UMD...would this FW affect the playability of UMDs in any way? My friend says that recently games have built-in FW upgrades for the PSP in order to play the game. Let's say the game requires 3.71 OFW to play the UMD. What if your PSP firmware is 3.71 M33-2 CFW. Does Dark Alex's CFW provide all the functionality of the latest Sony FW update, plus the ability to play homebrew games? If so I have no need to worry, but if it is otherwise...

The CFW will not affect the UMD gameplay in any way and no problem, I'm here to help.
