Starcraft Strategy

Zerg strategy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is an awesome zerg strategy, it gets you off to a slow start, but you'll have an army of hydralisks when your opponent just started to make an extractor. Follow my instruction exactly and try to do it as fast as possible.

-make your overlord scout out your base (always do this)
-make drones until you have 9, your supply limit for `right` now
-now wait until you have 300 minerals and build a hatchery
-Next when you get another 50 minerals build an extractor (only make one drone mine gas)
-make 2 more drones
-now wait until you have 200 minerals and build a spawning pool
-now build an overlord
-now make 3 or so drones make creep colonies incase your opponent attacks soon
-your 1 drone mining gas should have 50 gas by now, so wait until you have 100 minerals and build a hydralisk den.
-And now build until you have 18 drones, 4 on gas 14 on minerals, build more overlords.
-And now you're ready to shock your opponent with an army of hyrdalisks.
note-Be sure to upgrade your hyradlisk movement and range while building your army

Another Terran Strat

OK here goes my strategy anywho
reqiurments-
money map
and nr 15-20

Ok build about 10 scv's and get 9 to gather and one to keep building supply depos on the side(make sure u have room for turrets ok next when you have a bout 18 scvs getting minerals get one or to to make refineries (4 to 5) afther that make 3 scv's gather at all and keep biulding supply depos next make 5 scv's and get them to biuld a barracks when thats complete get one to biuld a factory then while aiting mke 5 more scv's then once the factory is done get 4 to build an armory then the rest to create starports make 5 more sc's and get them to build a enginnering bay and start creating an air d then make about two bunkers in the front of your base and behind that 8 or so tanks remember to up grade them. and start upgrading ships to make 8 marines and put them in the front of your base and by this time u should have 12 starports make sure they have control towers and then start making BattleCruisers by this time you should have a good air and ground d then go over to a free positiona nd make a few starports and command centers in case base 1 falls but that won't happen next create 2 nukes and a 2 ghosts and upgrade them, go nuke ur enemies air d and its a front stage ticket gl

Protoss Carrier strategy

heres how to get a whole fleet of carriers..Just build enough to have 200 life , then one forge and one cyber core then 12 stargates (by the way) you have to have lots of gas and mins. Anyway, you should then get a fleet beacon, upgrade the max interceptors and BANG! You have them, with one out of each stargate.Then select them in groups of 12 then go on and press ctrl 1 and move that fleet away then grab another 12 and do ctrl 2 then you can just press 1and2 and it selectes them...this is how i do it!...if you have anymore questions please just say

Protoss Strategy

1) Build a MASS of Carriers!
2) Build a MASS of Reavers!
3) Build a Probe or two

Rush the Carriers into the front of the enemies base, put in a reaver to kill the photons (or other stuff). Stuff in a probe and start building photons. If you hold out long enough the carriers will be a distraction while the reavers clear the field and the probes start killing. I BSed (lol) 6 people with this technique (7v1 comp).

Protoss Strategy
A No Need Recall Hack

Do you know when your psi limit is already really high and you just cant make another fleet of carriesr. Some people recall there probes into the enemies' base to rid the probes thus giving psi limit to build carriers. Use the hack 1.11b and press f8 on the probes instead of recalling.

About Protoss....

Protoss are pretty simple and easy for beginners and can be quiet powerful.
For rushing ( attacking a few min after game starts ) They are not the best, unless you know how to use them which i will teach you

Cons ( bad things about protoss )

- Not the best for rushing besides that nothing I can think of

Pros ( good things )

-Can build multiple buildings at a time ( you do not need a man to stay there and build )

-Your first army units you can get are very powerful do fast damage and have lots of health.

-They can own anyone with the `right` strat

-You do not need to be pro a beginner can use Protoss.

*Note these Strats are based on Fastest map possible*

~~For a short game about 5 min~~

1. Make 4 or 5 extra probes to mine crystals.
2. Use one of your probes to make 2 ( 3 is better ) Pylons about 2 inches apart somewhere in your base.
3. Make 2 more probes to mine. ( if you can send 1 of them to scoute and find your enemy)
4. make 3 to 4 stargates.
5. Start making Zealots! Make sure to make a couple more pylons if you need more!
6. RUSH THE ENEMY

~~~For a long game~~~

1. Make as many probes you can to mine.
2. Use one of your probes to make 3-4 pylons 1-2 inches apart.
3. Make more Probes.
4. Build about 5 Gateways. Build 15 -20 Zealots just incase you get rushed ( in starcraft you never know)
5. Make a Forge.
6. Build 4 Assimilators. And make 4 probes to goto each fo them.
7. Make 10 more Probes ( if you need more Pylons build them )
8. Build a heavy fort by the entrace of your base if you can ( in some maps there is only 1 way to get to a base on ground ) By heavy fort I mean a couple of pylons and just COVER it with Cannons, but dont go over board you need crystals to make your army and buildings.
9. next build some more zealots another 10 or 15 to be safe.
10. Now you may need alot of Pylons so build them around your whole base intill you have 200 available army to take up.
11. While during 10 build mroe probes to mine and also build the other 4 Assilators. Having 2 Probes on each Assimilator is advised for fast hrowth.
12. Build a Cybernatics Core. Make 10 to 15 Dragoons.

ok now this is the point where you can go acouple ways.

~First way~\

Build all Dragoons and max out there strentghs with the Cybernetics core ( if you choose this build 3 Cybernetics Cores for faster upgrades.)

~Second Way~\ ***FOR BROODWAR USERS***

Build Dark Templars

For this you need a A.) Citadel of Adun and
B.) Templay Archives.

With this you would get Alot of Dark templars and i would form 1/4 of them into Dark Archons.

~Third Way~\

Build 50 army points into Reavers and the rest into Carriers: You will need

A) Stargate
B.) Fleet Beacon
c) Nexus
D)Gateway
E) Robotics Facility and
F) Robotis Support Bay

~Forth way ( and recommeded )~\

A FULL FLEAT OF CARRIERS....Although you can still lsoe with a full fleet of carriers you if know how to do it you can do this in less than 10 min...

1.Build ALOT of Stargates so you can build many Carriers at a time ( they take forever to build)
2. once you get all the Carriers you can ( dont forget to upgrade them with FLeet beacon and cybernatics core) kill off the rest of your armys ( zealots etc) but leave some probes case some of your carriers die.

and then...ATTACK

This stratergy works really well against noobs and intermediate. Might have some trouble against pros. Anyway I find the high templars psionic storm really interesting. It works well in a battle clustered with tons of units. This stratergy is a hybrid between templar drop and zealot rush.
This is the "to-do" order:

1) send all probes to gather minerals
2) build fith probe and gather minerals
3) build sixth probe and build pylon, send to minerals
4) build seventh probe, build assimilator, send to minerals
5) build eigth probe, build stargate, build assimilator2, send to assimilator
6) build ninth probe, wait until stargate warped in, build zealot, send to assimilator2
NOTE: Starting from step 6, you should warp in a zealot at the end of every step
7) build probe, build cybernetics core this probe reffered to as probeA
8) wait until cybernetics finished, warp in citadel of adun with probeA.
9) build probeB, when citadel finished, probeA and probeB build templar archives.
NOTE: BUILD ZEALOTS HERE UNTIL TEMPLAR ARCHIVES FINISHED
10) research amulet (+50 temp energy) and psionic storm in the two different archives. build robotics support bay.
11) while reaserching, b uild 1 templar for every 2 zealots, then build four more templars. and a shuttle.
12) Hotkey all the templars except for four and the zealots as force 1. Your force should be something like the following : 8 zealots 4 high templars. Rush with the zealots of force one.
NOTE: WE ARE HOPING YOUR OPPONENT SENDS THEIR UNITS TO THE FRONT OF BASE
13) When a lot of units are at the opening, psionic storm them with the templars of force one while uploading your leftover four templars into shuttle.
14) Shuttle your `left` over four templars to the mining operation of your opponents bass.
NOTE: I LOVE THIS PART!!!!!!!!!!!!
15) This may seem simple, but the logic behind this is amazing. Your smuggling in two potentially really strong units. Archons!
16) Unload templars at the mining facility. Psionic storm the probes. LOL enoughs said.
17) Merge templars into archons. Attack Nexus. DIEDIEDIE!!!!!!!!!

This is the alternate version:
instead of building high templars, build dark templars.
instead of reaserching psionic storm, reaserch mind control.
instead of one shuttle, build two.
send four zealots with the 4 dark templars.
unload zealots first. Finish off workers.
Use templars to merge into dark archon. Mind control nexus. LOL Enough said:rabiit:

6 'ling rush
(Zerg of course)
Any map with bases close to each other/any map with an ally rushing with you

1. Select all drones and send them to mine. You should guide the other 2/3 drones to other minerals.
(If you don't they will stay there for 5 seconds doing nothing)
2. Make a drone until 7/9 (Make one drone as soon as you get 50 minerals)
3. You should have (or close to) 200 minerals by the time your 7th drone hatches.
4. Make a spawning pool with your 7th drone.
5. Make an Overlord as soon as you get 100 minerals.
6. Make a drone as soon as you get 50 minerals. Scout out your enemy base (or maphack )
7. You should have 3 larvas just before your Ovie pops out.
8. Your spawning pool will finish `right` after your Ovie hatches.
9. Now make all 3 larvas zerglings.
10. If your opponent is Protoss and he has a few cannons laying around, go and kill as many probes as you can.

Strategy in starcraft are very simple.
Take it from me, cuz Im gosu haha. Im a ladder map and bgh/hunter player, but I often do well too in fastest maps. However, fastest maps are ridiculous, cuz bases get too big too fast, so strategic forces usually dont work too well, you really gotta mass units.

FASTEST:
The best in fastest in my opnion are the hydralisks because there are few units that counter them, and they dont need any skills to be used.

Countering Hydras:
Terran: Mainly its the tank/marines, but the need of micro management in a mass map will hold terran players back. Its almost impossible for them to take down zerg bases with this kind of strategies. Next best option are the battle cruisers, but they are way down in the evolution stairs, and unless there is a no rush rule, hydra might destroy terran base before the first bc is out of the starprt.

Protoss: Although one zealot beats one hydra (maybe even 2), massing zealots wont work, because the narrow paths will give the hydra the advantage. Several zealots will die from back hydra shooters before they can lay the first hit (trust me, i tried). And zerg will eventually win. Reavers/storm are the best option, however, with unlimited money, its storm or created scarabees non stop to kill masses of units that wont stop coming. Carriers dont work neither... Interceptors do die quickly when there are too many hydras.

BGH:
If youre playing 3x3, or 4x4, you MUST advance slowly in the tech tree. The best option is to rush with level one units WITH your partners. Even terrans will have some trouble stopping triple first units rushes.
Rushing with Ran:
-Build Scv until you read 8/10 (the 8th is being produced, dont add the 9th yet)
-While its being produce you should eventually reach 100 mins when its around halfway done.
-Build a supply with the 7th scv.
-The 8th comes out, and you should have around 50 mins so now you can start building the 9th.
-Keep building scvs the whole way, but one by one or two by two, dont fill the queue line, its a waste of money.
-As soon as the supply is done, you should have a bit over 150 mins, so build a barracks
-Before the bar is complete your money should be over 150, select an scv and build another bar.
-Keep making scv, as you money reach 100 build another supply.
-Build the first marines
-Then another bar as you money reach 150, building scvs all along.

Keep massing marines, and as your money reaches a descent level, make a new building (supply if needed), geyser to start goinn through the tech tree, the either factory to pair marines with tanks, or academy for the shell and stim pack upgrade (very useful against goons and hydras), or firebats if ur opponent are massing ling, or zealots.

Make sure you building in the start are placed very tigh... use the marine range his advantage, marines have great attack power but very low defense/hp. Zealots will lose ot marines if they are fighting in narrow paths. If you make ur building too spread, zealots alone can kill a terran who is vulnerable, so be careful not to be the one getting rushed. Building tigh will also give ur allies time to react in case u need, and time for u to judge the outcomes of the fights and ask ur allies for help or o****ry depending on ur own judgement.

Things NOT to do: Mass tanks alone. Marines are the `right` hand of the terran army. Tanks alone WILL kill each other with their splash damage and will be destroyed easily by lings, zealots, vultures, or air attacks.

Put the marines in front of the tanks. You rather lose marines due to the splash damage then the tank. Also, players have tendency to target tanks... if marines are walling, they wont go through and die.

If youre using spider mines, place then far from the tanks and specially far from the marines. Mines walk and explode recklessly... a speeded up ling can lure a mine that might kill up to 8 marines.

Im tired of typing so only gonna add this:
Basic:
The basic idea in any game is to watch ur enemy, and have the good sense to predict his next moves. Finally, all you do is counter.
Learn which unit counters each... and then elaborate a strategy that will counter your enemies.
Example:
You terran vs toss.
-Youre uncertain wha he is going, so you start making a couple of marines, and a bunker (thats kind of an all purpose defense... neither goons or zealots can break through bunkers easily if they are wel place).
-The enemy shows up with an army of zealots
-Your best option is to make firebats and vultures, those units are great to kill zealots, but they wont destroy any building.
-As soon as you kill his zealot army with firebats and vultures MAKE tanks!!
Why??
Because he will try countering firebets and vultures with dragoons (heavy armor type unit, only takes 1/3 damage from firebats and goons). SO you will need tanks to fight them easily.

If the enemy is taking to long to attack he might be going reavers which can be a pain in the neck for terran who didnt tech fast. The best unit to kill them are either tanks or air units. But watch on the air units... f he made reaver he obviously has cybernectic core, so he can make goons too, and wraiths just wont do the cut without the cloak... and even with it, they take ages to kill land units.

Its up to you really.

1-find ur enemy then gather minerals until you have 150
2-build a barrax on ur enemies far corner where he cant c u
3-build another barrax in ur territory for defence
4-build the building to get gas and gather some
5-once a barrax is done build a academy
6-once its down build firebats in enemy territory and destoy their probe,scv,drone

Remember to build some marines for defence.

-make 24 hatcheries
-upgrade all your units
-create 3 groups of hydralisk, 2 groups of zergling, 2 groups of ultralisk, 1 group devourer and 1 group guardian
-attack your enemy's base with all your ground units at the same time.
-attack your enemy with a group of guardian and devourer behind his base
-while attacking create another batch of units (different kinds) and command them to attack until the base of your enemy fall.

It takes time but powerful. Even the greatest defense of terran will fall.

Start of by mind controlling someones drone, have an arbiter, IF they dont have burrow then your gunna have to make a hatchery and develop it. now what you wanna do is discover the range of the arbiter in the cloak field. This is how you do it Burrow your unit (drone zergling hydralisk infested terran Tank? marine?If it works still) then move your arbiter in near the drone And when the cloak field gets in near the unit Unburrow. Then move either the drone or arbiter away from the other unit and if it uncloaks Repeat and try faster or slower unburrow time, When building zerg buildings you are not gunna be able to Cloak ALL buildings only few. ie. Creep Colony i think extractor works spore / sunken i think, hydra den/spawning pool should work.

this is a kinda old thingy but its fun to see a computer rush you with zea lots and finding nothing to attack.

I don't really agree with many of these strategies. For one, maps like "Fastest Map Ever" only encourage noobishness, as they give practically unlimited resources, and you never need to expand/worry about defending your expansions. But I digress. A breakdown of the first few strategies I read.

There are far too many "What Ifs" in this that would screw you. On the surface, this strategy looks fine. However, what happens if you're playing against another Zerg? In ZvZ, hydralisks blow, as they're like crippled zerglings. In addition, what happens if you get zergling rushed? Or SCV/zealot rushed? Just pointing out that strategies MUST be flexible.

Again, you'd get owned by a decent rush. Even assuming you survived late game, why nukes? Nukes suck. Sure they might total a base if they land. IF they land. Unless you're playing a really bad player, you'll get spotted REALLY easily by decent players. Stick with the BCs.

*yawn* Another strat relying on no rushes. Besides, with the amount of resources needed to produce these carriers, assuming your opponent has roughly the same income, they'll overrun you, if you understand what I mean.

These are just a few fallacies in these strategies, not that I'm trying to flame. Here are a few tips for goodness:

1) You MUST scout. Scout, scout, scout. You need to know what the other player is doing. Conversly, kill their scouts. If they don't know what you're doing, you'll generally win. Perhaps you could even try tricking them with your build.

2) EXPAND! EXPAND EXPAND EXPAND. Get all the minerals you possibly can. Build extra unit producing structures at the same time. With your increased income, you can afford to produce more units, and swarm. Of course, don't be stupid and overdo it. If it means sacrificing your entire unit production, don't.

3) Be flexible. This one's the toughest to explain. You need to understand what the opponent is doing. For example, if they mass mutalisks, you see this, you build Corsairs/Valks/Devourers. If they go MM (Marine/Medic), Siege Tanks, Lurkers, or Reavers will save you. These are just a few examples. With lots of experience, you'll be able to tell what the opponent is planning. This one ties in with scouting.

I just pointed out that the first strat can't be relied on -.- What if you're playing zerg? Hydralisk = waste of zerglings early on. Zerglings pwn Hydralisks. What about an early game marine rush? Marine rush pwn you. Scouting is the most important part of a strategy...

my terran strategy is simple but ive used it againts 56 people and no one could beat my defence

ok firstly i would make around a dozen scv's to gather the needed mats. 2 to build the required buildings for anti air missle towers and seige tanks

fistly i would round up a buttload of seige tanks and set them in attack range placings sorta like a web, every 3rd one would be in non seige mode to take care of the smaller pests, then i would begin stacking the towers alll around my base in the open areas between the seige tanks

the final prodtuct INPENETREBLE BASE, unless the invading army had 500+ carriers in ready, they arnt getting in

now that my defence is set up, i would begin making a attack force, mostly battle cruisers and marines

but about 80% of the time i would win, the 20% is when they attk me before i can get any seige tanks out but thats about it

last time i played star craft, so easy...
i pwned the humans with my zerg army full spawn of zerglings.
my spawn count was 50 and i had 100 zerglings charging into enemy base...

Zergling = Weak in defensive strature solo but when you combine forces, about 60+ zerglings, you will see the increase in strengths.
