Despite the fact that it’s a little too easy to have an opponent attack your backside, controls are typically quick responding and attacks are relatively devastating.

One thing Naurto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 2 does right is it makes good use of the Gamecube's four controller ports. Of course playing against a friend is fun, but playing against two other friends is even more fun.

IGN
The addition of four player battles alone makes Clash of Ninja 2 a worthy purchase, as the already frantic fighter is now doubled in intensity.

If you enjoy Naruto or fighters in general, you can't go wrong with one of the final GameCube releases before Revolution day is upon us.

PGNx Media
Although it probably won’t bring in many new fans, Naruto loyal will find a lot to like in the game.

Naruto 2 is a far more complete package than the original...If you watch the Naruto anime, this game is a must-buy.

Shikamaru's godly strengths aren't enough to throw off the game's equilibrium. Coupled with the lush visuals, the deep fighting engine, and the inspiring character designs, Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 is definitely worthy of landing in your game collection.

Games Radar
You're getting the same far-reaching anime fighter that impressed us six months ago, now loaded with sprinkles of new content and a pretty hot multiplayer mode. If only the presentation was up to par with the fighting (enough with the talking heads), we'd be looking at a complete package.

Planet GameCube
A definite must for fans of the series. However, if you’re looking for a serious 3D fighting game, this game won’t be for you. While the game is beautiful and features abundant fanservice (the clean type), the unbalanced game mechanics make for little more than a party game to be enjoyed with friends. [JPN Import]

You get to play a cartoon here, and it's a complete fighter. It's good for fans of the anime, as well as fighter fans.

Either way, Clash of Ninja 2 is a solid fighter that should appeal to Naruto and fighting-game fans alike. [Dec. 2006, p.105]

Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 is a fun game that fans of the series will find enjoyable. What I don’t like is that there is not a lot of depth to the controls.

GameDaily
An improved version of last year's game with four-player fighting capability and more characters. For some, that's reason enough to celebrate.

Play Magazine
Beat down fun for the whole family. [Nov. 2006, p.86]

In all likelihood, we can see the charm of this game fizzling out in a couple of weeks, but it's damned good fun while it lasts. [JPN Import]

GameSpy
It's simple to get into, so the kids can get in on the action, but even skilled players will find something to sink their teeth into here. While some will be drawn to the voice acting and the nods to the series, the fighting is fun enough to keep everyone happy.

Hardly likely to set the world alight. [Dec 2006, p.44]

Worth Playing
While Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 is an improvement over the original in many ways, it is also, at its core, a rehash, continuing where that game let off and making sure to stop at a point that can lead into the third.

60
GameSpot
Clash of Ninja 2 seems more like an upgraded game than a true sequel, and it ultimately does little to improve upon the original.

60
G4 TV
The players to whom that would really be a problem have probably already done something about it, though. To regular humans who don’t know about imports and don’t care that there might be a better version on another continent, Clash of Ninja 2 is the best Naruto game on the market.
