BioShock PS3 gold, demoed
Posted by xCloudz, 54 days ago 30/09/2008

As one of the most decorated games released in 2007, BioShock ostensibly has little room for improvement. Even so, that’s just what Take-Two and an entourage of developers including 2K Marin, 2K Boston, 2K Australia, and Digital Extremes have set out to do with the PlayStation 3 edition of the game. Gamers will soon be able to judge the outcome of this conversion.

With its October 21 launch date looming, Take-Two said today that development on BioShock for the PS3 has wrapped and the game’s gold disc has shipped to manufacturers for mass production. An expanded effort over the Xbox 360 and PC game released last year, BioShock for the PS3 features an all-new Survivor difficulty mode, where enemy intelligence and weapon damage has been tweaked to provide a stiffer challenge. Though it will feature expanded content, the game will retain the same ending sequences seen in the Xbox 360/PC original.

BioShock on the PS3 will support trophy achievements as well as add-on game content that will be available for purchase after the game’s launch. For those looking for a freebie out of the gate, Take-Two also confirmed today that a playable demo will be available on the PlayStation Network beginning October 2.
